Il n'est nullement aisé d'obtenir le précieux Césame menant à Cabrera. Mais une fois sur place, difficile de regretter le chemin de croix permettant d'y accéder ! Tout comme les Columbretes, cet archipel demeure un site exceptionnel. Autant à terre, que sur l'eau, la baie dégage un calme et une beauté rare. A peine arrivés, nous nous sommes mis à l'eau pour une balade aquatique à rendre fou de jalousie les amateurs de chasse sous-marine !
Les sars et autres dorades n'y sont absolument pas farouches, se laissent approcher et nous avons même croisé un baliste de fort belle taille avec lequel Laurent s'est amusé à nager et qu'il a touché quasiment du bout des doigts avant qu'il ne prenne la poudre d'escampète devant ce nageur un peu trop génant ! Une visite au château de l'île, édifice qui servait au XVIe siècle à surveiller l'arrivée d'éventuels pirates venus d'Afrique du Nord, nous a permis de découvrir la baie vue d'un point situéen hauteur. Terrible ! La position avancée de Cabrera permettait, en fait, de prévenir les habitants de l'île de Mallorca par le biais de feux dont la fumée servait de signaux.
